same-day-edit
Even though Jason & Liz were married in 2010 we considered it part of our 2009 season since we now have some time off. What better way to end the season than with a great couple and some of our favorite wedding professionals.

Susy and I always say that one of the reason we love our jobs is that we work from home. "Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow" is what we usually sing in the winter. When you have no place to go you don't mind when the streets turn to ice.
Of course the first snowy day we have in Ohio this year... we have a wedding. But even though the roads were slick and slushy I was glad for the powdery stuff yesterday. The snow almost became another member of the bridal party. It really made for some great shots.

We've been looking forward to Heather's wedding ever since we filmed her sister Jill's wedding four years ago. Heather emailed us in February to check on our availability before deciding on a date and we have been counting down the days with her. During the last four years we've developed a friendship with the Schieda family, getting together with them on occasion for meals and great conversation. They are truly one of the nicest families you will ever meet. If you spend any time with them at all, you'll be blessed with great friendships for the rest of your life.

Yesterday we were on the North Coast for a beautiful day.

As we were packing up for the night Amy's mom stopped and said, "When Amy first said she wanted to hire your company for videography, I said 'Okay...' (apprehensively) then she sent me a link to your website. I was crying watching the videos and I didn't even know the people. After seeing that video tonight, I know she made the right decision."
And that, my friends, is why we enjoy what we do...
PS... You will be seeing more of Amy and Steve on the blog when their video is done. Just a hint, WOW, Amy can sing!!!

The excitement of pulling off a Same Day Edit is enough to keep us wanting to do them but an even bigger encouragement is when the couple, the family, and the guests shower you with thanks and praise.
When Silke sent me her song choice, I knew that this SDE was going to be a good one. The way the music changes during the opening of the doors gave me chills when I finally got it to line up.

Spending day with a bride and groom and their families gives you a chance to get to know the couple in a unique way. You see who is important to them. You see the things they value. You hear stories about them and what makes them special. Sometimes you learn about secret nicknames (see the end of the video).
One thing is true. Every couple is completely unique and that becomes the essence of their video.

We have always heard great things about The Club at Hillbrook in Chagrin Falls and now we know why. It provided a perfect backdrop for a beautiful wedding. There is such a rich history all around you. You feel like you have stepped back in time.

Susy and I say that the main ingredient to a great wedding video is a couple that is truly in love. Eric & Julie are going to have an awesome video! You could tell when they opened their gifts and realized they had bought the same card for each other. You could tell when they looked at each other and the little smiles they exchanged. You could tell in the way they would joke and laugh. You could tell when they said their vows.

Even though the day got off to a late and hectic start, everything worked out perfectly for an awesome surprise Same Day Edit.
Kevin & Jillian were a very sweet couple. Kevin knew just the right thing to say to make Jillian relax. Each week we try to capture the details that make a couple unique. Kevin & Jillian made our job easy from the deep breaths to the pinky hold. At one point during the SDE Kevin turned to me and gave me the head nod (guy language for 'nicely done sir' or 'nice car' depending on the context).
