These are a few of our favorite things!
If it was Friday, this would be a Friday's favorite but....
Like many other families in NE Ohio and across the U.S. we are without electricity. This really puts a crimp in the business workflow with no power, no computers, no internet, heck... no refrigeration.
I just wanted to let everyone know that if I am a little slow to respond to emails or phone calls this week, it is because the lights are out and my cell phone signal is really weak in our area.
Estimates are we will be up and running by early next week.

Susy and I obviously hear a lot of toasts. We always giggle when we hear one of the "classic lines" that are somewhere on a website that everyone seems to draw from. Then there is the opposite extreme of the drunk groomsman who says the name of the groom's x-girlfriend instead of his new bride's. Yes, it has happened.
So we find it really refreshing when someone comes up with an original idea for a toast. This past weekend's was a classic. Not only was his toast original, it was hilarious, personal, and touching. It was one of the best I have ever heard.

One thing is certainly true for us in the summer. We are busy. Not only does the wedding season get into full swing in May and June, but the flowers, plants, and the grass around the house begin to consume a lot of time. Thankfully Susy loves to take care of the latter. She is quite a gardener.
This year she has taken it up a couple notches with the addition of some raised beds for a proper vegetable garden.
To document all of her work and keep a record of when to plant everything next year, she decided to start a blog.

Most times if you ask people about their favorite restaurant, the answer will have a French sounding name. It will be rated "five stars" with well known chefs, and hard to pronounce dishes with ingredients that only culinary institute graduates (and Susy) will be familiar with.
For me, it's Chipotle.
I was introduced to this glorious culinary delight about 5 years ago in Cincinnati by my friend Justin Golden.

Documentaries. Some people hate them... we happen to love them.
I am not sure if it is because our style of videography borders on documentary or what the reason but Susy and I love a good documentary. Half of the time we end up commenting on the great camera angles and interesting shots. The best documentaries tell a complete story and draw you in. You feel invested in what is being explored.

Susy and I love to hike so for this Friday's Favorites we decided to show you some of our adventures. I typically have my little Sony point-and-shoot camera in my pocket.

Susy and I have taken a liking to having our afternoon cup of espresso. We drink a modified cappuccino with no foam. We used to treat ourselves to Starbucks when shopping in Canton but now we are to the point where we will wait until we get home to brew our own.

One of the interesting thing about Susy is that she was born and raised in Colombia, South America. She is bi-lingual speaking perfect spanish. She also an amazing cook of Colombian cuisine. Her parents are missionaries to the area. They now live in Bogota.
Over the next few days we will be in South America visiting Susy's dad. We have 4 other people along with us to introduce them to the work going on.
We are doing a Same Day Edits of our activities everyday.

Whenever brides call to inquire about our services, one of the first questions asked is, "Where is Malvern?". I always reply, "The middle of nowhere. We have a Dairy Queen and one stop light and that is all we need."
Even though living in Malvern means driving an hour or two to weddings we still love it. We are in the country, surrounded by woods, on a quiet street. Seeing all kinds of wildlife is common place in our back yard.

A couple years ago we started a tradition in our house. The week between Christmas and New Year's we watch as many vintage James Bond movies as we can.
