A note from Becky - 1 year later
February 24th, 2009
You may remember Nick & Becky's wedding. If not check out their SDE and Love Story.
I just received a note from Becky.
... You guys did such an amazing job with our video- people are STILL talking about it over a year later!! I always tell everyone that it was the best-spent money of my entire life, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! Thanks Becky!
Rich & Nicole's SDE @ Grace Bible College
February 15th, 2009
What a wonderful way to spend Valentine's Day! Rich and Nicole have been dating for over 10 years. They both decided to focus on their careers before they settled down. They picked Valentine's Day to get married and share their anniversary with Nicole's parents who celebrated 40 years together today.
Everything went just as planned and Nicole even got the snow she wanted!
It was great to work with Tom Forrest and his assistant Kevin. After the reception we headed back to the Bible College and spent 2 hours playing with our video lights to get some great photos.
Congrats Rich and Nicole. Enjoy your two weeks in the Virgin Islands!

Ronnie & Andrea at Glenmoor in Canton
February 6th, 2009
A couple of months ago I posted Ronnie & Andrea's Same Day Edit on the blog. I received the following email from them after they watched their final video.
WOW! WOW! WOW!
Brian we just watched our video and words can not describe how you captured the most amazing day of our lives, we can not thank you enough. You are absolutely amazing at your job!!!!
We are so glad that you were our videographer, and can not wait to share this amazing masterpiece with all of our family and friends.
As you know, nothing makes me happier than getting a note like this. I cherish the fact that I can capture memories that families will treasure for a lifetime.
Below are two clips from their video that I particularly enjoyed. Ronnie & Andrea's reception was beautiful. Perfect fall colors. Lots of candles. Just enough and not too much. Andrea's dance with her dad was really special as well. I had a smile on my face the whole time I was editing that segment.

In a few days I am going to post another clip from their wedding... be sure to check back.
Odd Dates
February 3rd, 2009
This year has been really interesting for booking weddings here at 2nd Mile. The typical pattern is that we book the peak days which are all of June, July, September, October. Then we start to fill in the "off-season". This year it has been almost the exact opposite. All of the off-season has filled up fast and our peak months are mostly empty. The good news is if you are still looking for videography for your wedding, we may have your date open. Below are some dates that we still have available.
- All of April
- May 9th
- May 30th
- June 20th
- July 4th - Are you kidding me? We have July 4th open?
- July 18th
- July 25th
If you are getting married on one of these sates and you would like to receive an information packet, drop me an email.
More dates coming soon.
Sit Down Uncle John!
January 25th, 2009
It never fails. There's always one. Usually he (or she, Aunt Jane does it too) is wielding a $150 point-and-shoot camera, or better yet a disposable camera from Drug Mart (click.. zip, zip, zip). But there is one sure way to spot them.... they are always standing in front of ME.

Susy has had people literally push her out of the way during cake cuttings. One Uncle John was circling so close to the bride and groom during the first dance with his video camera, that he was in both of our shots AT THE SAME TIME. We could go on and on.
Don't get me wrong. I don't mind family members taking photos (or video for that matter). In fact, I encourage it. My complaint comes when Uncle John thinks that him getting the shot is more important than us getting it. I know I can't say later on, "Oh sorry your dad giving you away is not in there, but Uncle John might have an underexposed photo of that touching moment still on his digital camera. I know it is Uncle John because I have a great shot of the back of his head. "
There are times when I just want to tap Uncle John on the shoulder and say, "While I appreciate your efforts to capture this beautiful day for your family members to remember forever, there is a reason they did not hire you. NOW SIT DOWN UNCLE JOHN!"
(Rant over... we now return you to your regularly scheduled program.)
